The Shires French Link Eggbutt Snaffle is a double jointed snaffle with a flat French link. This mouthpiece works by applying pressure to both sides of the tongue and is a kind, mild bit ideal for schooling. Some horses with a low palate or smaller mouth may find this bit more comfortable as it's designed to lie across the tongue without coming into contact with the roof of the mouth when rein contact is applied. The eggbutt cheeks are fixed, making the mouthpiece more stable inside the horse's mouth. This stability can encourage a less confident or experienced horse to work forwards into the contact.
