A long 210mm platen, improved platen access and the ability to run 14" contact wheel makes the Shop Master 2x72" a great option for knife makers who want a professional-grade machine that will be up to any task you throw at it throughout your knife-making journey. With the twist of a handle, the 6-in-1 rotating platen provides: - Flat steel platen - 2" contact wheel - 3" contact wheel - 5" contact wheel - Short Slack belt - Long slack belt Effortlessly and efficiently configure the grinder to flatten material, rough out a knife blank and shape a handle - all without the need for tools! ANGLE ADJUSTABLE REST The Angle Adjustable Rest's fine angle adjustment knob, platen notch and large rest area make it the perfect tool for grinding your knife bevels. Simply set the angle between the platen and rest at the calculated angle for your bevel, clamp your knife tang to a 123 block (or screw to a square block of wood) and start grinding! 6mm PLUNGE PLATEN The Plunge Platen (sometimes referred to as a 'waterfall platen') is an indispensable tool not only for getting plunge lines clean and symmetrical, but for sanding your freshly ground bevels to a consistent, high grit finish. The stand raises the grinder 185mm from the surface of your bench to a more usable working height, and the tilting mechanism breathes a whole new life into the existing functionality of your grinder. HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE PEDESTAL STAND Our Height Adjustable Pedestal Stand (HAPS) is the perfect addition to your Shop Mate 2x48" belt grinder / linisher, providing a compact, stable mounting platform for your VFD and grinder. These stands allow for a 300mm height adjustment (from 850-1150mm in 25mm steps), making it easy to set a comfortable and ergonomic working height regardless of your stature.
