rocío sáenz (chihuahua, méxico, 1971) receievd her master's in art in havana, cuba. her work has been exhibited individually and collectively at national and international levels a cross the americas and europe. in 2006 she won first prize at "luna, una expresión artística" organized by the national auditorium in mexico city, and first prize at the salón de octubre in guadalajara. she also received the 2006/2007 vsc mexam fellowship. in 2009 she won an acquisition prize at the chihuahua painting biennial, and was selected by artist jannis kounellis to participate in a workshop organized by the fundación marcelino botín in santander, spain. in 2010 she took first place at the ii pedro coronel painting biennial.
