Short Handle Camp Axe This axe is designed for camping and bush craft - for hard work and survival! The head is hand forged from 4140 steel and is fully heat treated enabling the p oll to be used as a flat hammer, which is perfect for setting camp stakes and various other tasks requiring blunt striking. The handle is sculpted from American Ash with a wooden wedge to fit the head to the handle which is proud of the eye. Both the head and handle have a finishing coat of linseed oil. A handmade leather sheath for the head is included. Our sheath leather is full grain, vegetable tanned cowhide leather. The sheath will help protect your tool and keep it sharp and protected. The sheath is fastened together with a metal snap button closure.
