The Short SC.7 Skyvan is a British twin-turboprop aircraft known for its distinctive "flying shoebox" design. Manufactured by Short Brothers of Belfast, Northern Ireland, it first flew in 1963. The Skyvan is known for its rugged design and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities, allowing it to operate from short, unimproved airstrips. The Skyvan has been used by both civilian and military operators worldwide, with examples still in service with some militaries and civilian operators.
