This native is an erect wildflower with a hairy green, central stem; once it matures flowering side branches are present on the top half of the plant. The flowers are showy, and pu rplish pink coloured. As a legume (pea family), the Showy Tick Trefoil's roots contains nitrogen which increases soil nutrient availability. The flowers are beneficial to pollinator species, like bees and butterflies, as well as birds and small mammals.
