This is Berberis wilsonii. The little yellow flowers are very pretty and they are followed by dark blue edible fruit that is kind of lemony tasting, which makes it a great lemon ju ice substitute. Barberryaid, I guess I would call it. Growing up to 6 feet high at most, this shrub flowers in the Summer and likes to live in full sun. The leaves begin as a deep red and then slowly change into a lighter red, then pink, then finally to green. This produces mature leaves that are green with red tips.
