This is Delonix decaryi, also known as Poinciana, and Flamboyant Tree. This beautiful tree is from Madagascar and it has blossoms that are orchid like. Although it does need a warm climate, it also grows well in containers where it can be protected from frost. It likes to live in the full sun where it blooms from late Spring until early Summer.
