Shure BETA 58A Supercardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone The Shure BETA 58A is built for close-up lead and backing vocals onstage and in the studio. Its focused supercardioid pickup pattern helps isolate the singer from nearby sound sources and allows high gain before feedback. A vocal-tailored response adds presence and clarity, while bass roll-off helps control the proximity effect when singing close to the grille. The BETA 58A combines a neodymium magnet for strong output with a pneumatic shock mount that reduces handling noise. Its hardened steel mesh grille is made to withstand regular performance use.
