Siam Pasha is sourced from various parts of Southeast Asia — Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia — and contains essences and notes from all three regions, blended together in a single composition. When this kind of multi-regional blending is done properly, the result is an oil far greater than the sum of its parts. The various regional characters do not cancel each other out; they complement and extend each other. Siam Pasha carries a lovely incense note with a faint underlying sweetness, and for its price it serves as a very pleasant introductory oil to oud from Thailand and the surrounding regions. We sometimes recommend it to wearers who are still working out which regional vocabulary they prefer — Pailin? Trat? Lao? — because Siam Pasha gives them all three at once, in a balanced reading that makes the comparisons easier to draw. A pure oud oil composed of properly multi-regional material, offered at a highly accessible price. One of the more useful entry-level oils in our entire range.
