Isn’t it annoying having to up-end all your cupboards to extract a full-size colander just to empty one can of veg? And not only that, but having to wash, dry and wedge it back on its shelf again, and clean up all the water that’s been dripped all over your countertop after you’ve finished rinsing your canned food? Designed to put an end to all those draining problems, Siftr is the perfect size to pop on top of food cans to strain out the water and brine inside, without the mess a colander makes. Stress-free straining Made to fit all food cans from 6.5cm to 8.5cm diameter (most food cans, like the ones you get tinned veg in, are 7.5cm in diameter), this little can strainer fits over the top of an open tin so you can empty out the brine straight into the sink. The different size holes make it easy to drain a range of canned foods, from lentils to chick peas. Its compact size means it takes up a fraction of the space a normal colander does in your cupboards and on your drying rack, and if you end up getting more than one (you’ll soon find out why you should), they can be stacked on top of each other for even more space-saving helpfulness. Save water on rinsing and cleaning Compared to emptying every tin into a large colander and then keeping the tap running to rinse and wash, you’ll save more water using a Siftr, as well as freeing up more space in your dishwasher too. One mini colander – lots of problems solved It might not be much to look at, but this unassuming little dome will soon end up being the unsung hero of your kitchen by making life that little bit easier every day. There are plenty of ways it can lend a helping hand thanks to being made out of super versatile, food-safe silicone. The extra grippy material makes it ideal for opening tight lids on jars, while its high heat resistance up to 290°C means it can also sit in a simmering pot and hold fresh herbs to infuse with your food while cooking. Siftr can also be used to catch pips and pulp when adding a squeeze of lemon or lime to your cooking, and it even works as a sink strainer. There’s sure to be plenty more ways you’ll find it comes in useful, we’ve even heard talk of it being used as a cocktail strainer… now we can drink to that!
