Rather than following a single design, the collection brings together different personalities and styles, giving each doll its own distinctive presence. Created by SilaiWali in New Delhi, the dolls are handcrafted by Afghan refugee women artisans. SilaiWali combines textile upcycling with skilled paid work, sustainable income and Fair Trade principles, giving discarded fabrics a new purpose through handcrafted design. SilaiWali supports around 60–70 Afghan refugee women and states that 100% of its own revenue goes to the artisans.
