It is available in 3 types and speeds (detailed below), and is to be added to the base silicone at 5% by weight. The shelf-life of this product is 9 months. 1kg base Silicone requires 50g of Curing Agent 5kg base Silicone requires 250g of Curing Agent 20kg base Silicone requires 1kg of Curing Agent Slow (81-R): The key benefit of 81-R is that it produces a silicone more resistant to polyester resin, so it increases the mould life if you are casting resin into your silicone moulds. Ideal as a general-purpose cure and for pouring moulds. Also suitable for use with Silastic™ 3483 Silicone Base Working Time: 90-120 minutes Cure Time: 24 hours Shore A: 19 Fast (81-F): A fast-curing agent is the most popular and is recommended as standard. Ideal for both pouring and brush-on applications. Working Time: 30-45 minutes Cure Time: 6 hours Shore A: 23 Very Fast (81-VF): This really is Very Fast! Only use in specific applications where speed is essential. The 10-minute working time is great for building up layers in brush-on applications, but you really do only have 10 minutes to work with it! Working Time: 8-10 minutes Cure Time: 2 hours Shore A: 25
