Pro racers valued its convenience, as they frequently changed tires based on race conditions and could easily pour in fresh sealant without needing to inject it through the valve. However, there were two main concerns from more casual cyclists—it dried out quickly when not in use, and its composition of the longer strand carbon fiber made injection difficult and problematic, leading to a potentially messy installation if not handled carefully. Lastly, the old natural latex formula needed a two-step process to stay liquid longer. That extra step has now been eliminated with the new blend of natural and synthetic latex.
