Cloud is a traditional ikat design from Studio Naenna in Chiang Mai, hand-loomed in silk by Khun Wiroy. Ikat is the slow art of dyeing the pattern into the thread before the loom i s set. Each section of yarn is tied off, dyed by hand, untied, and only then woven - so the pattern emerges in the cloth as the weft passes through. The faint blurring at every edge is the signature of the technique. It is the proof of the hand. A note on the cushions. The pattern is loomed in a continuous run, and each cushion is cut from a different section of it. The colourway and the design are as shown; the precise fragment will vary, and we cannot tell you in advance which part of the run will be yours. No two are exactly alike. Show more
