Weaving traditions over centuries-old are applied by the local women's cooperative of San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala. Natural dyes derived from local plants and minerals, such as indigo, turmeric, rosemary, purple basil, and chimney ash give this silky-to-the-touch kimono its stunning, one-of-a-kind pattern. Ikat or jaspe is the traditional technique used to tie and dye the threads, which are then woven on a back strap loom.
