How It Works Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful chemical that will very effectively attack and kill organic compounds present in the water. However whilst it is great at what it does the process in which it works makes it very unstable. Once diluted it releases a free atom of oxygen which will rapidly try to attach itself to another atom to form a stable molecule of oxygen, it is this process in which it actually kills bacteria. The problem is that it is so reactive that it will quickly break down and become inactive and thus require more to be added. This can be both time-consuming and not cost effective. How To Use Silver Bullet Roots Silver Bullet Roots is primarily designed for hydroponic systems, whilst it can be used in other applications this is where it works best. As with all things prevention is better than cure so a maintenance dose of 0.5-0.8ml per litre is recommended to be added throughout the entire growth cycle to maintain high levels of oxygen and a strong healthy root zone. If a problem already exists then this dose can be doubled (and in some cases tripled) as a 'shock dose' treatment to fight the infection, this can be continued until the problem is dealt with at which point you can return to using the maintenance dose.
