Order a minimum of 6 chicks total to ship, 2 for pick up. Our hens are covered by a blue homozygous rooster, with about 80% of the hens tested homozygous as well. Our goal is simple: the prettiest speckled eggs we can produce. All of our roosters come from strong speckled lines, and we’re always working toward even more consistent speckling in the flock. It’s important to note that Silverudds Blue eggs are not always speckled. Often, the natural bloom on the egg can soften or partially hide the speckling. Speckling may vary from day to day, and occasionally a hen may lay a completely plain egg. That said, every bird in our Silverudds Blue flock carries speckled genetics, and the range of blue and green egg shades remains absolutely beautiful.
