It is a good choice for keepers who want a less-common hap that still fits the familiar Malawi care pattern. Origin and Habitat Native Region: Lake Malawi. Natural Habitat: Intermediate habitat with open swimming areas and nearby rock structure. Physical Characteristics Size: 8-9 inches. Coloration: Mature males develop the strongest color and contrast; females and juveniles remain more subdued. Body Shape: Large, laterally compressed hap body. Behavior and Temperament Temperament: Mildly aggressive. Social Behavior: Best with similarly sized peacocks and haps. Aquarium Care Tank Size: A 75 gallon aquarium or larger is recommended.
