Simma Down Now Daylily Holy Moley! 'Simma Down Now' daylily is one HUGE daylily! Enormous blooms are a good 9" and sit top scapes around 39" tall in our East Tennessee garden. This spider-type bloom is a lovely pearly-purple in color and is classified as a spatulate daylily—meaning its blooms are markedly wider at the end than they are at the base. Gorgeous!! As an mid season bloomer, we begin to see the awe-inspiring blooms of Simma Down Now around the middle of June. If you live to our north, you'll see them a bit after we do. If you live to our south, you'll notice them a couple of weeks before us. Simma Down Now is a dormant daylily. That means it is best grown in areas that receive a sustained winter cold period like those in zones 8 and lower. We love to see the beautiful blooms of Simma Down Now in any planting, but we think its unique shape looks especially lovely when paired with daylilies with standard and double blooms. Try it with sizzling hot pink, bold gold and deep purple to amp up the "wow" factor in your garden. • Visit our YouTube channel to see all our videos on daylilies.
