Why do we need Templates and how do we use them? (Lecture and Demonstration) SATURDAY 25TH JULY 1PM The Whitworth, Darley Dale, DE4 2EQ - Programme & Venue Details In this lecture, Nigel will be explaining why the use of Templates in our leatherworking projects enables us to be sure that when we start working on our leather, there is nothing to work out as measurements and hole marking have already been realised. Nigel will explain and demonstrate how template measurements are decided upon and show how to accurately measure, mark and cut your template so it can be used to your advantage. PLEASE NOTE • No video, but photos can be taken at the end Students are advised to bring along the following items: • A pen/pencil and paper/notebook, so that you can take notes for future reference. Although trained in the traditional style of Leatherwork and saddlery, he gravitated to making bespoke handmade leather goods and for the last 15 years and more, he has been teaching both in the UK and abroad, passing on his skills and knowledge to the next generation. An accomplished author of two books in four languages with a third being planned, Nigel is a credible and respected authority about leatherwork.
