16x20 Unframed The Sunwashed Palettes collection was inspired by Mediterranean palettes and sun-faded architecture, along with an early appreciation for Rothko and minimalist art. Grounded rectangular fields create structure, while circular forms introduce a peaceful balance. The result is a body of work that feels cozy, calm, and quietly magnetic. Walking European paths left a mark on my mind. Walls faded into chalky blushes and warm creams. The lightest blue-greens of fountains flowing against stone. I wanted to capture that feeling in paint. The compositions are intentionally minimal, allowing color and texture to express the soul of my work. A delicate patina effect allows deeper undertones to illuminate the soft, chalky layers that mimic plaster, like history beneath a sun-worn wall. These pieces are named with joyful moments in mind.
