SIMRIG SR2 – 3-DOF Motion System The SIMRIG SR2 is a 3-DOF (degrees of freedom) motion system that actuates a total load of up to 225 kg using four industrial-grade linear actuators, delivering pitch, roll and heave directly to your aluminium-profile rig. It is the brand's best-selling platform: a fully plug-and-play system designed, manufactured and tested by SIMRIG in Sweden, and shipped complete with the SIMRIG Control Center software at no subscription cost. The SR2 reads telemetry from your simulator and converts in-game forces into precise, low-latency motion, transforming a static cockpit into a living one without dramatically increasing its footprint. Main Features 225 kg total actuated load — driver, rig, peripherals and screens combined, 50 kg more than the SR1. Four industrial linear actuators with a factory-calibrated position sensor, 70 mm travel and 100 mm/s speed for fast, accurate response. 7 ms latency — motion queues are processed in real time so the cockpit reacts the instant the car does. 750 W power supply, fanless and silent, providing ample headroom for rapid motion commands. Compact integration — actuators bolt directly to the rig, the ECU tucks under the seat, the PSU sits beside your PC. Mandatory emergency stop included — the system will not operate without it, for guaranteed safety. Native VR motion compensation on OpenVR and OpenXR keeps your head steady in VR while the cockpit moves. Technical Specifications Configuration: 3-DOF, four linear actuators (pitch, roll, heave) Max actuated load: 225 kg (driver and rig included) Actuator travel: 70 mm Actuator speed: 100 mm/s (at max load) Accuracy: 0.1 mm Latency: 7 ms Actuator input: 24 V DC, Molex 8-pin connector (power and data) Power supply: 750 W, input 100-240 V AC, 50-60 Hz (worldwide) ECU: four motor controllers, four 7.5 A Mini Blade fuses, temperature-controlled 80 mm fan Interface: USB 2.0 (Mini-B) Operating system: Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) Cooling: automatic fan (active only when needed) Emergency stop: included and required Package dimensions: 77 cm x 58 cm x 19 cm Package weight: 22 kg What's in the Box 4x SIMRIG SR2 linear actuator 1x SIMRIG SR2 Electronic Control Unit (ECU) 1x 750 W power supply (100-240 V, 50-60 Hz) 1x Emergency stop 4x Linear actuator cable (1 m) 1x Low-voltage ECU power cable (2 m) 1x Mains power cable (C13) 1x USB cable (3 m) 1x SIMRIG Control Center (download) 4x Vibration damper and 4x support bracket Assorted screws and T-nuts, plus mounting hardware for your rig Mounting & Compatibility The SR2 mounts on aluminium-extrusion rigs built from 80x40, 120x40 or 160x40 mm profiles; other dimensions are available on request. Two mounting systems are offered: included 20x20 mm aluminium profiles (maximum rig width 620 mm) or EasyBrackets (CNC-machined, no maximum rig width, suited to 40x80 and larger). The matching plastic support brackets for your chosen profile height are supplied in the box. The actuators must be mounted in a rectangle, 700-1100 mm apart, with the SIMRIG S-logo facing outwards. Software SIMRIG Control Center is included with no extra cost and must run in the background during use. It reads telemetry from supported titles and converts vehicle forces into motion, with an Auto-Tune function that records your driving to generate a tuned baseline profile per vehicle. Supported simulators include Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, rFactor 2, RaceRoom, Project CARS 2, the F1 series, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Microsoft Flight Simulator, among many others. Setup Notes Installation is plug-and-play: fix the four actuators, the ECU and the emergency stop to the rig, connect the four 8-pin actuator cables, the USB cable, the low-voltage and mains cables, then install SIMRIG Control Center together with the FTDI drivers. The emergency stop connects to the dedicated E-stop port on the ECU. Use the Load Estimator in the software to balance the load 50/50 front-to-rear (± 5 %) for best lifespan and performance. Proper cable strain relief with the included clips and ties is essential given the constant motion. FAQ Does the SIMRIG SR2 work on PlayStation or Xbox? The motion system runs on a Windows 10/11 PC via SIMRIG Control Center, which reads PC telemetry. Console support depends on the specific title; consult SIMRIG's supported-games list for current console availability. Is the emergency stop mandatory? Yes. The emergency stop is a required safety feature and the system will not operate without it connected to the E-stop port on the ECU. Software error code 13 appears if it is disconnected or activated. What is the difference between the SR1, SR2 and SR3? The three systems share the same software and mounting hardware and differ only in maximum actuated load: 175 kg for the SR1, 225 kg for the SR2 and 250 kg for the SR3. Choose the SR2 for a driver under 120 kg on a 40x80 to 40x160 rig. Which mounting system should I choose? Choose the 20x20 aluminium profiles for rigs up to 620 mm wide, or the EasyBrackets when your rig is wider or when you prefer mounting the actuators directly to the cockpit with no width limit. Do I need a separate cockpit and seat? Yes. The SR2 is a motion platform that actuates your existing aluminium-profile rig. The rig, seat, wheel base and pedals are not included. You can order the SR2 with a compatible cockpit and seat through SIMRIG resellers.
