Description The Singing Trees - Elden, Felix, Ralphie, Zuzu The standard package includes four singing tree characters with a Pixie8 controller, 16 sets of 50 black square pixels (LOR connectors), and 8 extensions (four 5ft and four 10ft). Pixel pushing is completed by the customer, following provided diagrams and the path on the back of the singing faces. This package may be purchased without a Pixie8 controller if you already own a Pixie you can use, such as from your Singing Pumpkin package purchase. The Assembled Pixie8 controller includes the controller board and power supply wired and mounted in a weather-proof, ventilated and UL listed enclosure. The power supply is UL listed: MeanWell LRS-350-12 - 120/240V input (User Selectable) - 12V - 29A output - with extended temperature operating range. This is a 12 Volt controller system compatible with 12V RGB smart pixel strands and devices. Dumb RGB devices or standard LED / Incandescent lights cannot be plugged into the ports of this controller. If you do not use a Pixie controller included with this package, you must set the "personalities" of your Singing Trees in your own Pixie using the Control Panel>Hardware Utility>Advanced Configuration. A Tree personality takes up two ports, and can be configured in the dropdown fields. Frames are not included and must be built by the customer. Each character uses 190-200 smart pixels based on two 100 square pixel strings. Pixel spacing is 1-2″ depending on location. This singing face character bundle standard package is controlled by an outdoor rated, weatherproof Pixie8 controller with built-in power supply. Just connect the Pixie8 to your existing standard Light-O-Rama data network with a Cat5, tweak your musical sequences to add in these talking/singing characters (or buy our pre-made sequences) and you’re good to go. These characters can be controlled using a standard PC set up (with a USB485 adapter) or with any of our Showtime Directors. If you are using these Singing Faces with any Deluxe, RGBPlus, or Singing Face Standalone sequences purchased from our sequence store, they should be connected to your “Regular” computer network or “Net 1” Showtime Director network. Purchases outside the United States and Canada are assembled with an internationally approved and UL listed: MeanWell RSP-320-12 - 120/240V input - 12V - 26.7A output - with Power Factor Correction and extended temperature operating range. Note: Software is not included. The Advanced Version of the Light-O-Rama Software Suite v5.3.0+ is required to use Standalone singing face sequences from our store. The Pro Version of the Light-O-Rama Software Suite is required to use other props in RGBPlus sequences. Mouth Movements Four different singing tree characters are available for you to use altogether as a set or mix and match as you see fit. (Elden, Felix, Ralphie and Zuzu). Each singing face is on a sheet of outdoor rated, UV stabilized, black plastic that is 42 inches tall by 39 inches wide. A singing character has fourteen circuits of RGB control: body outline, star or bow, two eye movements and ten mouth movements. Our V1 faces contained the first eight items in this list (stopping after the ‘O or U’ mouth position). character outline star/bow on top eyes closed eyes open mouth closed mouth E (half open) mouth A or I (full open) mouth O or U mouth Ah mouth M, B or P mouth F or V mouth L mouth W or Q mouth etc. EXAMPLE - ZUZU RGB pixels are used in our singing faces so a section can be any color, making it useful when expressing moods during a song. The lips might change colors or the eyes could flash from green to blue when appropriate. When sent with a singing face, our Pixie8 controllers are configured to make each of these fourteen sections act like dumb RGB pixels on each of the four faces. This way, adding a singing face to your network only takes up “14 dumb pixels” instead of the full “200 smart pixels” actually used to create this face. This makes sequencing easier for you and saves you network space at the same time. You do not need to do anything special to your Pixie8 controller for this to happen – it has already been done for you at our warehouse. Do NOT reset your controller without instruction from the Light-O-Rama Help Desk. Modes Personality Mode - Default Singing Face controllers are shipped already configured for personality mode. Using the Hardware Utility, two ports of the Pixie controller have been assigned to the respective character. It is important to connect the ports to the right character as pixel placement is different for each character - they are not interchangeable. Firmware settings allow personality mode to treat a singing character as 14 pixels on your network instead of the full 200 pixel nodes used. (14 sections - 10 Mouth, 2 Eyes, Outline, Topper) The personality of a singing face can be changed or removed by using a computer with Light-O-Rama software installed. Scan for the controller in the Hardware Utility, choose Config for your Pixie, and open the Advanced settings to find the dropdown. Custom Mode A custom model of V2 singing characters can be used if personality mode is disabled in the Hardware Utility. A custom model will use the full 200 pixels of data on your network instead of 14. Use a custom model to use your Pixie in Double Unit ID mode (firmware v1.11+ required), use an Aurora Core or Aurora Edge, or to use Motion Effects on any section of your character instead of solid colors. Custom models will NOT work automatically with Light-O-Rama store sequences (which use personality mode configured effects), and will not transfer with tags. Placing a singing face into V1 mode will allow it to work with any previously purchased Singing Face Motion Paks or custom sequences created for LOR V1 faces (before the 10-Mouth movement faces were available) without any sequence modification required. All Light-O-Rama “Singing Face Standalone” or “RGBPlus” sequence you purchase will contain both the V1 and V2 version of this singing face character. To use this singing face in “V1 Mode” (four mouth movements), place the included jumper on position 4 of the JP5 pin-header of your Pixie controller. JP5 is an 8-position pin-header: two rows of 4 pins with the label JP5 printed next to the first position of the pin-header. A jumper is small black plastic block with metal insert that slides over two pins in opposite rows of the pin-header. (Instructions with pictures will be sent with your purchase.) If the jumper is removed and a sequence contains effects for both a V1 face and a V2 10-mouth face, the singing face will follow the 10-mouth face sequencing by default. Warranty Click for more info
