Course Length 3 Days Course Trainers Robin Watts/Mark Hatter Course Dates TBC Venue TBC About The Course This three day course goes through the whole single / Child and Family (CAF) assessment process, with the emphasis on skills to get the best possible information from the family. Two days are spent in the classroom going through legislation and thresholds, also best practice. Skills in interviewing families and children are highlighted and practiced to achieve the best possible and reliable information from the family. The final day is spent conducting a ‘live’ assessment with professional actors which is then subject to group feedback. This is a real 'hands on' course. Course Benefits The objectives of Single / CAF assessment training: The student will be aware of the legislation and procedures in relation to the initial stages of child protection. The student will be aware of the need for a full risk assessment of a child protection situation. The student will have an awareness of how to conduct a thorough investigation in relation to child protection and understand the need for this.
