The southern Brazilian native Sinningia araneosa is another of the winter hardy gesneriads that's been a star in our garden since 2003. The 8" tall x 15" wide rosette of prominentl y veined, fuzzy, green leaves are attached to the 1' tall silvery fuzzy stems, which are topped with terminal clusters of bright orange, 2" long, tubular flowers from July through September in our garden...great for low-flying hummers.
