Jieun June Kim is a Toronto-based, Korean-born painter, illustrator, ceramicist, and public muralist whose practice investigates the evolving idea of “home” through the lens of immigration and cultural transition. Since 2010, she has exhibited internationally at notable galleries and art events, developing a visual language shaped by vibrant colour, symbolic motifs, and imagined spaces that bridge memory and place. Her work reflects the emotional terrain of belonging—how identity is carried, reshaped, and re-rooted across geographies. As an extension of her studio practice, Kim is committed to creating inclusive and welcoming environments through public art. Her murals function as communal spaces—bright, expressive interventions that engage local neighbourhoods and amplify the diversity of the communities they live within. Through both intimate works and large-scale installations, she explores how art can foster connection, cultural visibility, and a sense of shared home.
