Sipo, also known as Utile, has the most similar grain to Genuine Mahogany of all the woods. The color is a uniform reddish brown with a moderate natural luster. It is prone to plan er tear out due to interlocked grain. A slight cedar-like smell is present when worked. Uses include fine woodworking projects such as furniture, cabinets, instruments, veneer, turned articles, and boat building. This high quality lumber has been kiln dried and surfaced on two sides. There may be a slight bow or twist in boards 40" and longer. This wood glues and finishes well. This piece has planer skip. Please see pictures for details. Show more
