Lodolite is a variety of quartz with inclusions of chlorite, iron and calcite. These minerals can be seen as plumes in the colorless stone with green, pink, yellow, brown, white an d red. It is often called garden quartz or scenic quartz because it looks like a mossy covered miniature garden. To me, lodolite often looks like the Maine Atlantic tidal pools with their plumes of algae and the rippling clear water. So I wanted to make something that reminded me of the ocean. This ring features a beautiful garden quartz set in a pronged gemstone that looks like tufts of seagrass waving in the sun. To either side of the stone are little sterling beach stones.
