Sealey Jacking Beam MOT Upgrade Kit 1700mm (SJBEX1700KIT) From 1 April 2026 the DVSA requires jacking equipment used in new and changing Class 4 MOT bays to allow at least 1700mm between the centres of the lifting pads, so wider and heavier modern vehicles can be lifted safely on their jacking points. This kit brings a compatible Sealey jacking beam up to that width by replacing its lifting arms, which means an existing beam can be made to meet the new specification rather than scrapped and bought again. The replacement load arms extend to 1700mm and fit in place of the originals using the beam's own mounting points. The compatible beams already meet the 2 tonne minimum capacity for Class 4, so once the arms reach 1700mm the beam meets the new requirement on both capacity and width. Features and benefits Meets the 2026 MOT specification Replaces the lifting arms on a compatible Sealey jacking beam so it meets the jacking equipment specification the DVSA sets for Class 4 MOT bays from 1 April 2026. Reaches the full 1700mm The new load arms extend to a reach of 1700mm, the minimum distance between lifting pad centres the DVSA now requires, with the width to lift wider modern vehicles on their jacking points. Swapped in minutes The arms are held by a few screws, so the upgrade is a straightforward swap. There is no need to replace the whole beam or take the bay out of use for long. Fits the current Sealey range Designed to fit the current Sealey jacking beams, the SJBEX200, SJBEX300 and SJBEX200A. Cheaper than a new beam Upgrading the arms keeps an existing beam in service and costs far less than buying a complete replacement to meet the new requirement. What's included 1 x Sealey Jacking Beam Upgrade Kit (SJBEX1700KIT), comprising the replacement extending lifting arms and the fixing screws needed to fit them to a compatible Sealey jacking beam.
