We’ll guide you through the tracing process, show you how to mark key details, and help you turn your favorite piece into a reusable pattern you can sew again and again. This class is great for intermediate to advanced sewists. Knowledge of general garment construction is necessary for this course. Students should have made 3-5 garments completely on their own before taking this class. We will work on creating as many pattern pieces as we can on tracing paper, and, depending on complexity, students will leave with a pattern ready to make a mock-up In this course we'll go over: Identifying key pattern pieces in your chosen garment and writing a cut list Tools and materials needed Measuring and tracing the original garment to create a test paper pattern Refining your test paper pattern for accuracy and proper fit Notating assembly steps By the end of this class, you'll possess the skills and confidence to create personalized sewing patterns from the garments you love, eliminating the guesswork of standard sizing.
