Skinny Fat Quick-Release Spring Bars Get the perfect fit without the wiggle. If you’ve ever put a standard strap on a dive watch and felt an unsettling click or play at the lugs, our Skinny Fat Quick-Release Spring Bars are the fix. These bars are engineered to solve a specific problem: bridging the gap between standard watch straps and watches built with oversized lug holes. They feature a standard-sized body to fit easily through your favorite straps, paired with a robust, oversized tip to lock securely into your watch's case. Plus, the quick-release mechanism means you can swap straps in seconds without reaching for a tool. Specifications The "Skinny" (1.7mm Body): The center barrel is 1.7mm thick, maintaining compatibility with the standard spring bar channels found on almost all and quick-release straps. The "Fat" (1.0mm Tip): The ends step up to a 1.0mm thickness, designed to completely fill larger lug holes for a rock-solid, secure fit. Watch Compatibility: Read Before Buying These will not fit every watch. Because the 1.0mm tips are thicker than standard spring bar ends (which are typically around 0.7mm), they will not compress into standard or vintage watch lugs. What they are for: Dive watches and heavy-duty tool watches that feature oversized lug holes. Many popular Seiko divers (like the SKX, Turtle, or Tuna lines) which are notorious for requiring fat tips. Any watch where standard spring bars feel loose, rattle, or fail to seat completely. You should confirm the lug hole size to ensure the fit. What they are NOT for: Standard everyday wearers, dress watches, or vintage pieces with traditional, narrower lug holes. Trying to force a 1.0mm tip into a standard 0.8mm lug hole can damage your watch case or get the spring bar permanently stuck. For watches with small lug holes, you'll want our Standard Quick Release Spring Bars. Available in 18mm, 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, and 24mm sizes.
