Throttle Potentiometer Kit for the throttle body, operating within the engine fuel and throttle control system. The potentiometer is a rotary position sensor driven by the throttle spindle. It converts throttle plate angle into a variable analogue voltage which the engine control unit reads as driver throttle demand, and then uses to schedule fuel delivery and ignition timing. Supplied as a kit to replace the potentiometer element carried on the throttle body. Petrol applications: 1.8L 4-cylinder K-Series, and 2.5L KV6 with automatic transmission, with or without cruise control. A worn or electrically noisy potentiometer track typically presents as erratic idle, hesitation on part throttle or inconsistent throttle response, and the sensor is normally inspected whenever the throttle body is serviced.
