On their self-produced first release, they lean into mystery and melancholy, blending synths, drum machines, and ghostly harmonies in a dreamlike mosaic for the eclectic pairing of the acclaimed emcee (woods) and the alt-folk queen (Mitchell). dim star’s sonic collage and fragmented poetry - which feel like half recovered memories and lines from lost songs - collapses genre and creates a sound entirely their own.
