Scar of the Sea is the wine project of Gina Giugni and Mike Brughelli, who began their winery with the goal of crafting wines that are influenced by the sea and that showcase the C entral Coast of California. They produce their natural wines using biodynamic principals, with minimal input, allowing the grapes to truly do their thing. Their 'Bassi Vineyard' Syrah is produced from 22 year old vines about 1 mile from the ocean. It is wild fermented, 100% whole-cluster, before maturing for 10 months in spent French oak barrels. Think forest berries, purple flowers, black olive, and cracked black pepper, with fresh tannins and incredibly bright acidity. 12.5% ABV Show more
