On Yard, Wisconsin-born, Chicago-based four-piece Slow Pulp nestles comfortably into pockets of nuance, impression, and contradiction - sounds and lyrics that are so in tune with each other that they capture the specific tension of a feeling you've never found the right words for. In this respect, listening to Slow Pulp can feel like being in a room with someone who has known you for so long that they can read your every micro-expression and know exactly what you're feeling before you know it yourself. Maybe that's because of the band's shared history and chemistry; in different ways, the four of them grew up together - and are still growing up together. The Midwestern U.S. indie rock band's dreamy songs are based on moody shoegaze, catchy grunge and intimate lo-fi fare. The band debuted their full-length with Moveys in 2020.
