I crafted this blend through clinical skills and practical experience. Sedative herbs combined in a way to offer a lovely tasting experience while bringing actual benefit and ease to the end of the day. There is intentionally no valerian root added to this blend for those who do not enjoy the flavor, odor, or specific effect of that herb. (Approximately 10% of the population are stimulated by Valerian instead of calmed). Do note, some find this blend very helpful during the day if anxiousness is almost too overwhelming to be able to perform normal tasks with ease. It can help bring ease, and if anxiousness is running really high, sedative herbs have been shown to help relax a few "levels" down. Those few levels of calming can help get back down to “normal” and not necessarily sleepy. Some find great comfort in drinking this 1 hour before bedtime and then doing a second steep, leaving it it by the bed in case there are any middle-of-the-night wakings. How To Brew: Bagged: Use 1 tea bag per 16 oz of 195 ºF water. Begin drinking when temperature is comfortable but never remove tea bag. PASSIONFLOWER- nervous system tonic special to calming mental tension and racing thoughts. LINDEN- soothing herb not just for the nervous system, but also moistening to soothe what can be an overly drying blend (many sedative herbs are quite drying but adding moistening herbs brings balance to the blend). SKULLCAP- calming herb specializing in relieving muscular tension, fidgeting and spasms, and angry outbursts. MOTHERWORT- nervous system tonic specializing in calming “heart tension” which presents as heart palpitations, chest tightness, and high blood pressure. LAVENDER BLOSSOMS- aromatically calming herb with lovely flavor. The kraft bags holding our teas are 100% recycled and backyard compostable. The inner lining is plant based and the outer layer is FDA approved recycled natural Kraft. Our unbleached tea bags are sealed with a food grade staple and no chemical sealant. Each is compostable, as well as the herbs inside, once staple is removed. They love to return to the earth.
