Kaws - Small Lie Companion (Brown) The Small Lie Companion (Brown) sculpture by Kaws is an Open Edition made of black vinyl. The figure shows the Companion slumped in a defeated position with a long nose inspired by the Pinocchio character from Master Collodi. This figure is different from Kaws' other Companions in that he is dressed in dungarees. There are three versions of the Small Lie Companions: black, gray, and brown. Always recognizable by the X symbol in place of the eyes, the Small Lie Companion is part of an unnumbered edition and features the stamp at the bottom of the feet that authenticates its originality. The Pinocchio-inspired character dressed in dungarees bows his head in shame as if hiding from a parent after getting into trouble. Small Companion entered the contemporary art scene at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in 2016, at which KAWS unveiled a 9-meter-tall version of the new character made of African wood.
