Evergreen Ash Vessel A small, one-of-a-kind ceramic vessel shaped by both the forest and fire 🔥. This piece began with real pine, fir, and spruce needles wedged directly into the clay, leaving behind organic impressions throughout the surface. After an extended drying period to accommodate the unpredictability of natural materials, the piece was bisque fired. For the glaze, handmade pinecone ash was created from pinecones gathered in the mountains, dried over several weeks, and burned down to ash. This ash was incorporated into the glaze before the final firing, where it reacted in the kiln to produce soft blue blooms and drips across the surface. The result is a layered, atmospheric finish—deep greens breaking into unexpected blue tones, reminiscent of embers, mineral deposits, or alpine lakes seen through shadow. Each mark is a record of the process—no two areas can be replicated.
