Smith staff who are themselves deep into chubbing tried all kinds of lures and kept coming back to the same conclusion: the AR-S is simply the most fun, and it catches. What they added this time are finishes based on the insects you find right around you, plus a dedicated chubbing hook co-developed with Owner Hooks fitted as standard.The hook body is hammered so its flash draws the chub in, and the dressing is tied in red to suggest a bloodworm and trigger a reaction. A loop eye lets it be attached with a split ring.The AR-S blade itself starts turning the moment the lure lands and keeps rotating reliably even in pushy current. A slight raised lip along the blade edge improves rotation and start-up. It also responds to rod work during the retrieve for a left-right slide on a twitch, and the rolling swivel shaft, the low centre of gravity teardrop body and the clearance between body and shaft all work to reduce line twist.Two weights: 1.5g and 2.0g.
