Seeing life as it is, in all its imperfect and unpredictable glory, his work is about slowing things down and extracting feeling from the ordinary. Even the most everyday moment carries weight when viewed closely enough. Story Behind the Image: Shot at a vintage market moments before heavy rain began to fall. She stood out immediately — dressed in goth attire, smoking as she casually walked her dog while other photographers took her portrait. I approached with a different idea. Instead of a conventional shot, I moved in close, framed horizontally, and deliberately obscured her eyes. By asking her to take a few puffs, I focused on gesture — red lipstick and nails, rings and tattoos, cigarette smoke — shifting attention from identity to mood and a constructed persona.
