Finish: Glossy finish. Color: Hand-drawn black checkered pattern on beige stoneware, finished with a transparent glossy glaze that lets the natural clay color show through. Care: Dishwasher safe and food safe. Due to the handmade nature of each piece, slight variations in size, shape, and glaze are expected and celebrated. Each Smørklokke is truly one of a kind, no two are exactly alike. How to use the Butter Bell: Pour a small amount of cold water into the base of the Smørklokke. Remove butter from the fridge and allow it to soften slightly. Gently pack the softened butter into the top lid of the Smørklokke. Place the lid into the base so that the butter-filled bell sits submerged in the water. The water creates an airtight seal, allowing you to keep the Smørklokke out on the counter with soft, spreadable butter at all times, without it going rancid. Replace the water every 3 days to maintain freshness.
