How to Use - 1 - IMPORTANT - Remove the botanicals and Crystal and set aside, ONLY THE WHITE SAGE CAN BE BURNED.. 2 - PREPARE YOUR SPACE Open all doors, windows and storage spaces. This allows negative energy a pathway to leave. 3 - GET YOUR TOOLS READY For safety reasons, it is important that you have a fireproof shell or bowl to be able to contain your burning smudge, and to extinguish the embers. You can line the bowl with sand to both put out the smudge easily.. 4 - SET AN INTENTION - Set a positive intention, – This can be something you set yourself, or as simple as ‘I let go and release what no longer serves me.’ 5 - LIGHT IT UP - Important - Do not directly inhale the smoke. Hold your smudge stick over your fire-proof shell or bowl. Using a candle, light the end of the stick furthest from your hand. Let the fire kindle the whole end of the stick. Blow out the flame gently, leaving only the embers glowing. This will produce a smoke that will move around with the airflow of your room.. Aim for a light smoke, not a billowing smoke.. 6 - READY TO CLEANSE - While smudging, keep your focus on your positive intentions. Move around the space you want to cleanse, take your time to wave the smoke into corners, cupboards and dark places where negativity might linger. Encourage the smoke with your hands. Guide it into drawers, the back of cupboards, and anywhere else that you think it might not reach on its own.
