Sneaker Pimps quietly reinvented themselves with *Splinter* in 1999, stripping away the trip-hop accessibility of *Becoming X* in favor of something colder and more confrontational. Chris Corner took full creative control here, and the album's industrial undertow and fractured electronics made it a cult touchstone for fans who followed the group past their "6 Underground" moment. It remains one of the more uncompromising left turns in late-90s British electronic music. Tracklist 1. Half Life (4:57) 2. Low Five (4:35) 3. Lightning Field (4:11) 4. Curl (4:55) 5.
