Released in Japan in 1995, the SNK Neo Geo CD Top Loading is a revised version of SNK’s CD-based Neo Geo console. Designed as a more compact and streamlined successor to the origin al front-loading model, it replaces the motorized tray with a top-loading disc mechanism. The console retains the same arcade-derived architecture and CD-based game library while reducing manufacturing complexity and improving reliability. For players it provides access to Neo Geo titles through CD media at a lower cost than cartridge releases.
