Snom M250 DECT Single-Cell Base Station – 10 Handsets, 8 Simultaneous Calls & PoE
Need one DECT base that covers the floor, the desk, and the warehouse door? The Snom M250 is a single-cell SIP DECT base built for that job. It registers up to 10 Snom M5x devices, carries up to eight calls at once, and powers from a PoE switch or optional power adapter. Pair office handsets, a rugged warehouse phone, or the M58 DECT desk set on the same cell so walking staff and seated staff share one phonebook and one SIP platform. The Telecom Spot Take This base is the right size for a store, clinic, branch, or shop floor that needs cordless voice without a multi-cell project. Ten devices and eight concurrent calls match a typical retail or medical team. Pick the M53 or M55 for the office, the M56 for dirty or wet work, or the M58 when a desk still needs a large screen. Key Features Single-cell DECT for up to 10 devices. One base covers M53, M55, M56 handsets and the M58 DECT desk phone. Facilities teams keep one wireless system instead of mixing cordless and wired islands. Eight simultaneous calls and 20 SIP identities. Enough talk paths for a busy register line or nurse station. Twenty accounts let you map extensions, hunt groups, or shared lines without buying a second base. HD audio codecs including G.722 and Opus. Wideband codecs keep speech clear when staff walk the floor or stand in a noisy stockroom. Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af, Class 2). Hang the base near coverage, not near an outlet. A 10 W PSU (PN 00004570) is optional if the switch is not PoE. Two Ethernet ports (NET + PC), 10/100. Pass a PC or a second device through the base so you do not burn an extra wall jack. TLS 1.2 and SRTP. Signaling and media stay encrypted. Mutual authentication, failover, and server redundancy are built in for hosted or on-prem SIP. Zero-touch and remote management. SRAPS, HTTP/HTTPS/TFTP provisioning, DHCP options 66/159/160, TR-069, and TR-369 (USP) let IT push config and firmware without a truck roll. Over-the-air handset updates (SUOTA). Update registered M5x devices from the base instead of touching every charger. LDAP plus a 1,000-entry shared directory. Import CSV or XML. Staff see the same contacts on every handset. XML phonebooks are supported. Antibacterial housing, desktop placement. Specified for indoor use. Useful in clinics, hospitality, and shared work areas. Status at a glance. Green power LED plus two multicolor LEDs for VoIP and DECT link. Dedicated Link (pairing) and Reset keys sit on the base. Intercom, transfer between handsets, and some call features apply when those devices are paired. Does it need a wall outlet? Not if your switch supplies IEEE 802.3af Class 2 PoE. If it does not, Snom lists a 10 W adapter (PN 00004570) and an A5E PoE injector (PN 00004679). What about coverage? Snom rates the cell at up to 50 m indoors and up to 300 m outdoors. Walls, racking, and building materials will shrink that. Plan the desktop placement for line-of-sight to the work area.
