Monk FactsThe Snowdon is Crockett & Jones’ ultimate foul weather boot. It is constructed from the extremely difficult to source ‘wax hide’ leather, which is finished with hot waxes for added water resistance. The welting is done in the ‘veldtschoen’ style, where the leather welt is folded back on itself to stop water seeping in through the seam between the sole and the upper. The Snowdon also features a bellows tongue, where the tongue is folded and stitched up the side of the lacing for added water protection. Finished with the heavy duty Commando sole, this is truly a boot for the intrepid shoe lover. Founded in Northampton in 1879, Crockett & Jones a fifth generation family-owned company.
