Get fresh turns all day long, carry your backcountry skis, down hill skis, snowboard or split-board into the high county on your sled. Carriers are quick release for those days that you just want to Brap. Skis or boards are held into the rack system using a standard Voile strap, which most Backcountry skiers are already carrying, why not put them to use. The Ski Forks are situated at a 45 degree angle form vertical, the Snowboard Forks are situated at a 25 degree angle from vertical, this orientation positions the skis or boards towards the outside of the tunnel allowing for the use of your tunnel bag without interference. The Fork carrier is made of high quality, engineered Delrin plastic. Plastic material is used here because its gentler on your ski edges. Ski Fork carriers will accommodate ski’s and skins up to a maximum combined thickness of 1.25in. Snowboard Fork carriers will accommodate boards up to a maximum thickness of 0.650in. Base plates are 6061-T6 anodized aluminum and attach to your snowmobile tunnel via four stainless steel screws and barrel nuts. A single Stainless Steel Ball Detent pin holds the Fork to the Base. This "Universal" system will accommodate the widest variety of snowmobiles. Unfortunately, It doesn't fit everything, if you have a Gen 4 or Gen 5 skidoo Rev with the heat exchanger running on the under side of the tunnel, a Polaris with the T-track mounting system, or a Polaris with the Matryx chassis please take a look at one of our other systems. A unique feature of the 45 degree angle of the ski forks is that it allows the base plates to be mounted on either the top of the tunnel or the side of the tunnel, allowing a wide variety of mounting options and configurations. If ordering a rack for snowboards note that you will need to specify which orientation you intend to mount the plates in. Order horizontal forks for mounting both plates on the top (horizontal surface) of the tunnel. Order Vertical Forks for mounting both base plates on the side (vertical wall) of the tunnel. Order 1 Vertical and 1 Horizontal if you intend to mount the Base plates 1 each on the top and side of the tunnel. Note this is how the white Arctic Cat in the photos is configured. Each set includes two Base Plates, two Fork Carriers, two Attachment Pins, two Voile Straps (20" fork skis, 32" for snowboards), and mounting hardware to attach the base plates to your snowmobile tunnel, multiple screw lengths are included to fit various tunnel material thicknesses. Installation requires drilling four 1/4” holes per base plate (8 holes per set) through your tunnel. A single set is intended to carry one set of ski's or one snowboard, order two sets if you would like to carry two sets of skis or two snowboards. Also note you can order 1 ski set, and 1 snowboard set if you would like to carry a set of skis on one side of your sled and a snowboard on the other side.
