SO-ARM101 First Training Kit (Arm + 100 Wooden Cubes)
The SO-ARM101 First Training Kit is an SO-ARM101 LeRobot robot arm bundled with the standardised objects a first imitation-learning dataset needs: 100 two-centimetre wooden cubes i n ten colours and a gridded tray, so pick-and-place, sorting and stacking episodes can be recorded without sourcing props separately. The thing nobody tells you about your first imitation-learning dataset is that the arm is the easy part — what stops people is not having thirty identical objects to pick up. This bundle pairs an SO-ARM101 at the level you want with 100 colored wooden cubes and a gridded tray, so the first episode can be recorded the day the box arrives instead of after another order. What can you use it for? Recording your first 30–50 LeRobot episodes of a pick-and-place task Colour-sorting and put-in-tray tasks for ACT, Diffusion Policy or VLA training Stacking and tower-building demonstrations with repeatable objects Reproducible evaluation runs, where every episode starts from the same tray layout Classroom and lab robotics courses that need one orderable SKU per student bench Who is it for?People starting with LeRobot who want the arm and the task objects in one order, and educators setting up several identical benches where a second props order would delay the whole class.Compatibility Software: Hugging Face LeRobot, so101 configs unmodified; also Koch, Moss and other SO-100 forks Gripper: the SO-101 jaw opens to about 50 mm, so a 20 mm cube is gripped well inside its range Cameras: Standard level includes a wrist camera; add our 1080p USB module or the overhead desk arm for a second view Power: Servo Set and DIY levels need a supply — see the Dual-Voltage Power Kit for the correct 7.4 V + 12 V pair Printing (Servo Set level): about 768 g of PLA and 40 hours of print time for a leader + follower pair, 12 parts per arm Getting started: from unboxing to your first LeRobot dataset Choose the kit level: Servo Set if you own a printer, DIY if you want every part supplied, Starter or Standard if you want the arms assembled and calibrated here. Clamp both arm bases to the desk edge and connect the leader and follower to their own correct supply — 7.4 V for the leader, 12 V for the follower. Run LeRobot calibration on both arms so the joint ranges match before recording anything. Lay out the cubes on the tray in a fixed starting pattern and photograph it — that photo is what makes episodes comparable later. Teleoperate the follower with the leader and record 30–50 episodes of one task; train, then evaluate from the same tray layout. Specifications Bundle contents One SO-ARM101 kit at the level you choose, plus Robot Training Props: 100 × 2 cm wooden cubes in 10 colours and a 10 × 10 gridded tray Bundle saving The props are $4.99 inside the bundle instead of $19.99 bought separately — a $15.00 saving at every kit level Arm SO-ARM101 (open-source SO-101 design by TheRobotStudio / Hugging Face), 6 DOF per arm, Feetech-compatible STS bus servos with 12-bit encoders Servo Set level 12 servos + metal horns, no 3D-printed parts — you print the links yourself (about 768 g of PLA and 40 h of print time for a leader + follower pair) DIY Kit level All parts supplied, you assemble and print the arm links yourself Starter Kit level Leader + follower arms assembled and calibrated in Singapore, no cameras Standard Kit level Assembled and calibrated, with wrist camera Props 100 hardwood cubes, 20 × 20 × 20 mm, about 6 g each, 10 colours; tray holds a 10 × 10 grid Software Hugging Face LeRobot — so101 configs work unmodified; record with the standard teleoperation script Country of origin Assembled kits: Singapore (assembled and calibrated in our Singapore workshop). Parts and accessories are charged by parcel weight, the same rates everywhere: $11.99 up to 250 g, $19.99 to 500 g, $34.99 to 1 kg and $59.99 to 2 kg. Orders over $100 that stay under 500 g ship free. Standard tracked runs 5–18 business days; DHL Express (3–5 business days) is offered at checkout if you need it sooner. Within Singapore: $6, or free over $110. Assembled robot-arm kits over 2 kg are built and calibrated to order in Singapore (dispatch in 7–10 business days) and ship worldwide at carrier cost: SingPost Speedpost Priority from $124.99 (10–14 business days) or DHL Express from $229.99 (3–5 business days), shown at checkout. 7-day returns; defective items are replaced or refunded with shipping covered. Import duties, where charged by your country, are paid by the recipient. One parcel, one shipping charge: small parts travel together, so the postage on a single 70 g servo is the same as on six of them. A 500 g parcel holds roughly six servos plus horns and cables — which is also about where an order passes $100 and ships free. If you are buying one small item, it is usually worth checking what else you will need for the same build.Frequently asked questionsWhat does the bundle actually save me?The props are $4.99 inside the bundle instead of $19.99 on their own, so every kit level is $15.00 cheaper than ordering the two products separately — and it arrives as one parcel from Singapore rather than two.Which level should I pick if I have a 3D printer?Servo Set. You get the 12 servos, horns, cables and adapter board, and print the links yourself: about 768 g of PLA and 40 hours of machine time for a leader + follower pair, 12 parts per arm. The files are the open-source SO-101 release. Why cubes instead of household objects?Identical objects make episodes comparable, so the policy learns the task rather than one particular mug. Ten colours also let you define a sorting rule a camera can resolve, and the tray gives a repeatable target layout for evaluation. How many episodes do I need before a policy works? For a single well-framed pick-and-place task, most people see something usable around 30–50 episodes with ACT. Consistent lighting and a fixed camera matter more than episode count. Are the assembled levels really assembled?Starter and Standard arms are built and calibrated in our Singapore workshop and ship ready to clamp down and power up. Servo Set and DIY levels are assembled by you.Do I need anything else to start?A computer running LeRobot, and — for the Servo Set and DIY levels — a power supply. The leader needs 7.4 V and the follower 12 V; our Dual-Voltage Power Kit is exactly that pair.
