White pine is also a fast growing tree - in fact it reproduces so quickly that the International Union for Conservation of Nature has put the Eastern Pine Tree into its very lowest conservation category of Least Concern!I For maintenance, take a little brush and clean out the slats, and it wouldn't hurt to give it a quick coat with a coat of oil such as mineral or olive oil every few months or so.
